spring/summer 2010

The collections designers put together every season are always so beautiful. After looking through all the SS10 collections, because I can't actually afford to go to a proper fashion show in Paris, Milan, London......... Okay getting off track here! So after looking through all the collections I have decided which one I'm now obsessed with and that is with out a doubt, Lanvin. I've always liked Lanvin and its elegance with edge, which is what my style is kind of like, Elegance with Edge. Below I have made a collage of my favourite pieces. The reddy/peachy dress is really cute, i like the way it sits and it looks really comfortable, Demi Moore wore another Lanvin dress but it was much the same but longer and in a more camel tone. The rose dress i like alot. I think its really funky, I like the length of the sleeve's, that length flatters all woman. I absolutely adore the ruffles on the white dress, sometimes so many ruffles and frills can be overpowering but i think Lanvin have nailed it. I wanted to put the black dress here because there was alot of black in the show, which I'm not saying is a bad thing, because I love black, in fact right now I'm wearing an LBD, as Coco Chanel said, "When in doubt wear Black".
I put some images of the Stella McCartney SS10 show here for two reasons. The first reason is because Stella McCartney really went out of her comfort zone in this show. We're all used to seeing her do more sophisticated pieces with fabulous cuts and really top quality pieces but in her SS10 show she did these huge ruffles and really bold prints, but mixed in with that were some classic Stella pieces, like the white suit, although the suit had some ruffles on it, it was still very Stella McCartney. The second reason I put the picture here kind of relates back to reason one. After seeing all the collections (and by that I mean style.com vogue.com Grazia ....) I realised that some of the ideas from Lanvin were similar to Stella McCartney, one of the biggest ideas the brands both shared were ruffles. Which I think are going to be one huge trend in 2010.
